Coaching and volunteering is fun and rewarding and you don't have to be a soccer pro to do it. We have an amazing Coaching Director who can help get you started and work with you throughout the season. Plus, FHFC doesn't work without volunteer coaches so please support soccer on SJI and have fun doing it!

Here are a few of the details and requirements.

• There is no fee to register as a coach or volunteer.
  
  
• All adult volunteers will be asked to complete a background check through Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) during the registration process.

• In addition, there are 3 safety certificates that are require by WYS.  These certificates are awarded after you complete two online training courses at the US Soccer Training site.  The two courses are:

• Intro to Safety – Covers Concussion Certification and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to complete.
  
  
• SafeSport – Covers  identifying, preventing, and responding to misconduct and abuse in sport. If you haven’t taken the training before, the initial course takes around 2 hours.  If you have been certified in the past, the refresher course takes about 45-60 minutes.

• To show our appreciation to our coaches, Friday Harbor FC is offering coaches a 50% discount for one child from their team, which will be reimbursed near the end of the season

• Register your players before registering as a coach.
